China agrees to buy 70 Boeing aircraft in a deal worth up to 4 billion dollars

BEIJING, Nov. 20 (Xinhuanet) -- The China Aviation Supplies Import & Export Group Corporation (CASGC) signed a general purchase agreement with Boeing to buy seventy B737-700/800 aircraft here on Sunday in a deal worth up to 4 billion dollars.
The catalog price of the aircraft purchase agreement was about 4 billion US dollars and the planes will be delivered to eight leading Chinese airline companies between 2006 and 2008. The Chinese airline companies are Air China, China Southern Airlines, China Eastern Airlines, Shanghai Airlines, Xiamen Airlines, Shandong Airlines, Hainan Airlines and Shenzhen Airlines.
CASGC will sign another general purchase agreement with Boring in the near future to buy the other 80 planes which makes the tatal broader deal to purchase up to 150 aircraft.
