Zhang Lin's Sentence is postponed for another month
(July 16, 2005)Well-known free-lance writer from Bengbu, Anhui province, China has been detained in Bengbu detention center for more than half a year since January 29. On March 19, he was formally arrested for the charge of subversion by Bengbu police. Zhang was tried at the intermediate court in his home town of Bengbu city in the central province of Anhui on June 21.
According to Epoch Times on July 15, Mr. Zhang Lin's lawer Mo Shaoping indicates that this case should be closed within one or one and a half month. However, the deadline has passed. Recent news from the intermediate court of Bengbu city shows that it has been extended for another month.
