The two female students were crossing the road at the campus entrance when the light was green. But the local newspaper reported as "two students crossed road when light was red". The students were angered by the false report.

   By 2pm, about 10,000 students gathered and entered provincial government.

   Students retreated from the government site after teachers persuaded them a few minutes later. Students sat outside the government building.

   The protest lasted until the evening of 7th, during this period, different levels of officials communicated with sutdents, and promised to arrest the driver. The government also ordered the local newspaper "XinAn WanBao" to apologize in next day.

   In China, many accidents are not settled because the complicated background of drivers. Many cities also have set rule as "Driver will not be blamed for accidents if the pedestrians crossed the road where he/she is not supposed to cross".
